First of all, my name is Lori. LuceyBee is the name I fancy because some of my favorite characters were named Lucy. (The "e" just seemed to make it that much more mysterious.) I identified with Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip early on, even though my favorite character has always been her brother Linus. I wish I was as philosophical as Linus, but in real life I'm more of a fussbudget like Lucy. Ah well. Another Lucy I love is the lead character in While You Were Sleeping, probably my favorite movie. Happily normal yet oddly twisted. How did Lucy pull off pretending to be the fiancée of a man in a coma? And how did she resist her pretend fiancé's brother Bill Pullman (with his gorgeous hair) for so long? Seriously, this movie is delightful. Rent it if you haven't seen it. But I digress!!
I'm starting this blog in the hopes that my son Matt will start one, too. He just graduated from high school and is searching for a college major and career path. By blogging, I'm hopeful that his recent love of writing will blossom and help him find his voice along the way. Or maybe it will point him in a different direction altogether, but that would be fine, too. Taking the first step is what really matters.
